Nirav Shah, MD, CEO
Nirav Shah, MD, is Chief Executive Officer of Sentinel Healthcare. He is also an experienced neurohospitalist currently serving as stroke director of Swedish Neuroscience in Seattle, the largest stroke program in the Pacific Northwest. Nirav was inspired to create Sentinel Health while at the University of California, San Francisco, where he saw patients with stroke and chronic hypertension in the emergency department and piloted develop a stroke prevention wearable.
Clifford Fonner, CTO (Data Scientist and Program Manager)
Clifford Fonner is Sentinel Healthcare’s Chief Technology Officer. He is the executive director of the Virginia Cardiac Services Quality Initiative and the Maryland Cardiac Surgery Quality Initiative, nonprofit organizations that analyze cardiothoracic surgical data and implements comprehensive quality improvement and cost-saving programs into hospital systems. He has obtained $3 million in Medicare funding to expand his work nationally.
Jorge Sanchez, MD, CMO
Jorge Sanchez, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer of Sentinel Healthcare. He is also an internal medicine hospitalist who works with underserved Latino populations and rural healthcare systems. Previously, he co-founded a hospitalist company spanning South Florida which he successfully exited. He has published research on hypertension has been a clinical professor at Rutgers University Medical School.
Tanzid, Shams, MD, Business Development
Tanzid Shams, MD, is the Chief Business Development Officer at Sentinel Healthcare, and the director of neurology at Mountain States Medical Group. He is a graduate of Harvard University and completed his residency at Columbia University. He has been a founding member of several healthcare and technology startups and served as a consultant to design mobile health applications. He is a nationally recognized traumatic brain injury and sports concussion expert and currently, working on population health initiatives on brain injury prevention in the state of Tennessee.
